Jack was completely devoid of feelings but wanted to change this state of affairs at the same time. He left somewhere where  he wouldn't know anyone and no one would know him. He will be anonymus, suspended in time and space, open to everything and everyone. Travel is not a package tour to the Caribbean island  though . Journey is  a change.“The hope behind travel isn't so much to go somewhere new, it's to become someone different”. This young man saw things that had never been seen in his life, he had meet and had understood people, whose language he hadn't speak, he had begun to see things, not just look at them. Why is 1989 one of the reasons for my visit to Łódź in 2016? And why I'm writing about it today, in 2019? Firstly, Robert Smith will celebrate his 60th next week. In 1989 The Cure, the band in which Robert sings, realased their eighth album "Desintegration", one of the best of all time.Well, I feel like a historican now, so many dates. Anyway, I'm here today to talk about this little piece of art, as well as about a fear and an anxiety. Something that every human in connected with. In this album, there are mentioned specific phobias and fears: of spiders ( "Lullaby"), of missed opportunities ( "Pictures of You") or of disappointment ( "Last Dance").  The quintessence of "Disintegration", the central point of the album is of course the title track. FoMO, sounds familiar?

Do you have a facebook? Do you follow the news? Do you always have to stay up to date with everything? If so, it's likely possible you have a FOMO, but you can ask: what does it mean? Fear of missing out is "a pervasive apprehension that others might be having rewarding experiences from which one is absent". In short, you feel weird and unsure when your wi-fi is off and you therefore can't get messages and notifications from people who might inform you about something, who might "need your help"... Every excuse is good in order to check " the wall " or the notification bar. "A psychological dependence to being online could result in anxiety when one feels disconnected, thereby leading to a fear of missing out or evenpathological Internet use. As a consequence, FOMO is perceived to have negative influences on people's psychological health and well-being because it could contribute to people's negative mood and depressed feelings....
